Fairmont Devlin
History
The Devlin course was opened in August of 2002 and is part of the Fairmont resort, located around 3 miles from St Andrews. Designed by Dennis Griffiths, Bruce Devlin and Gene Sarazen, the course occupies a scenic mile long brae-side location overlooking St.Andrew’s Bay. For 2008 the Devlin finishes using two holes which were formerly on the Torrance course, the famous 17th and the 16th are the new Devlin 17 and 18. Two Devlin holes, the 3rd and 4rth are now part of the Torrance Course which reopens in 2009. The course measures 5319 yeards from the red tees up to 6949 from the Blue tees. Behind the Blues there is another set of tees available which can make the Devlin play to 7400 yards.
